History

History of Vietnam dates back thousands of years before Jesus Christ. In the Stone Age,  the oral history and archaeological excavations show us the succession of different dynasties of the Van Lang kingdom.

Some important dates in history time:
According to the manuscripts, in the year 258 BC, the second capital was built at Co Loa near Hanoi, in the form of a walled city that was beaten by the Chinese invasion.

The main successive insurrections were led by the Trung sisters in 43 AD, the Lady Trieu in 248, Ly Bi in 542, by Trieu Quang Phuc in 548, Mai Thuc Loan in 722, Duong Thanh in 820, Khuc Thua Du in 905, Duong Dinh Nghe in 931, Ngo Quyen in 938 ....

After this chaotic period, there are some important events:

In 967, Dinh dynasty with its capital at Hoa Lu.
In 981, the victory over the Chinese army.
Under Ly dynasty, the capital moved to Hanoi in 1010;
In 1077, the victory over the Chinese.

Three victories over the Mongols in 1257, 1285 and 1288.

Other famous victories in the war against China, such as: in 1426 and 1789.

In 1858, the landing of the troops of Napoleon 3 with the creation of Indochina.
In 1930, the creation of the Communist Party of Indochina.
In 1941, the invasion of the Japanese.
In 1945, the declaration of the independence.
In 1946, the second Indochina war with the country cut in two by the Poxdam meeting.
In 1954, the end of the war in Indochina.
In 1955, the intervention of the Americans.
In 1975, the end of this terrible war with the country's reunification.
In 1979, the war with the Khmer Rouge in the south and with the Chinese in the North.
In 1991, the opening of the border with China;
In 1995, the normalization of relations with the Americans and the abolition of the embargo made by Bill Clinton and Vietnam ranked as the member of ASEAN, Association of the Countries in South – East of Asia.

In 2006, Vietnam has been classified as a member of WTO and fits well to the world and became the example of the economic growth of developing countries.
