Enblem, logo and flag of the nation

 The national emblem is the rose lotus: Hoa sen hong in Vietnamese :



This kind of flower grows in ponds, flowering in the May.
This flower is a symbol of purity in Buddhism: Living in the mud but without being polluted by the stench.

At blossom season, Buddhists gather flowers to offer to the Buddha and to ancestors on the altar.

People mix the green tea in the petals to have the lotus scented tea.

The seeds and roots are used in medicine as tranquilizers.
The stem is also eaten as a salad.


While, this is the logo of the nation:

Two ears of rice are the symbol of agriculture.
Two wheels are the symbol of the industry.
With one sentence: The Socialist Republic of Vietnam

The National Flag dates from 1940, with the width equal to 2/3 of the length.
Red symbolizes the blood of the people and the revolution.
The yellow star symbolizes the color of the Vietnamese people.
Five branch of the star are the symbol of the union of five classes: Intellectual, farmer, worker, soldier and merchant:
